Second AD
I’m writing about this film with the agreement of the director and producer, Rareș Abraham.
„Vineri 3” or „Friday the 3rd” is a production made in Cluj-Napoca where I was Second AD for the first time in such a big production.
The film is still in post-production at this time, but I will keep you posted on my Instagram with the news.
What does a Second AD do?
Oh, well the printer is your best friend and your worst enemy.
My daily tasks were to do the call sheets, to keep the actors updated and to make sure that the actors and also the extras were ready to shoot on the set at a precise time.
I worked directly with the first AD and with the producers to make sure that the schedule is clear and suitable to be set on the call sheets.
I invested a lot in creating bonds with the crew, I’ve learned so many things and everybody was happy to share their experience and I find that these are the very best lessons.
Lessons learned
__ Communication is always the key.
__ If every member of the crew follows the schedule. Everything within the project will work like a Swiss watch.
__ You can find solutions even though it’s 3 am in the morning, only if you know whom to call.
__ The most valuable tool is the crew's energy. That drives everything into the right direction.
